Busy week!

So heres what happened this morning, yes I know, its only 9am!
Ok, so, I got myself ready for the gym. Thanks to my gawd damn awful chronic pain and having to increase my medication, I have put too much weight on & I’m incredibly unhappy!

I did at least find out that it is the medication that has caused the gain!

So I’ve decided to start going back to the gym & really give myself that push I obviously need!
Anywayyyyy! I arrived at the gym & was just starting to put my disabled parking badge in the window when my phone made a noise (I never know what sound means what!)

As I looked at my phone it reminded me of my physiotherapy appointment at the hospital!

It also reminded me of my Chiropody appointment this afternoon!
OH MAAAAN!
Its appears to be a week of medical appointments!

• Had my Tysabri yesterday (monthly MS meds)

• Physio today

• Chiropody today

• Blood test today

• Yearly MS review tomorrow with Neurologist!
The fun just never stops!

Monday motivation!

Monday motivation!

•Don’t ever say you can’t!

•Don’t ever think MS means the end of sport!

•Don’t ever stop reaching for your dreams!
If you want it as much as you say you do, make it happen!

All these paralympians did AND they have MS!

Proving MS doesn’t stop dreams coming true! 💞

September sun

True story!

20°c is always going to be tropical to me!

Don’t get me wrong, I love to see the sun! Who doesn’t! Its one of those enigmas in life, people are happier when its sunny (unless your a vampire, then that’s just unfortunate! Move to Forks, Washington,USA! I hear its nearly always cloudy there!)

Like i was saying, I’m happy to see the sun, as long as i can stay cool & its not humid! It’s the humidity that’s the hardest to combat for us MSrs, staying cool can be achieved a number of ways but how do you combat humidity? Answers on a postcard 🤔😉

Making a down day happier…

Having a pretty shitty day today tbh, so fatigued its unreal! Every day lately seems like I have to push myself harder, just to move my body and that’s without actually thinking about what I want my body to do! That takes even more effort! Long gone are those days that I can do things without thinking!
Right now, MS sucks but guess what, I was looking through my pictures on my phone, to find something that reflects my current mood…
That’s when I saw this photo and everything changed!

This photo was taken last Sunday when I yes me, drove the furthest I have ever driven (90 miles to South Yorkshire) to see my MS sister & the rest of our faaaamily! Of course I had my DebbieRahRah as SatDeb & navigator. What makes me feel more proud, was that I drove without feeling nervous!
This beautiful lady is my Kindred Spirit, she has helped me through my MS more than she’ll take credit for! I only need to see her smiley face and my mood lifts!

Thank you Sarah Hickman for making my day cheerier!

(And I know exactly what she’s saying when she reads this… Either “oh behave” or “stoppppp”)

🙊😂💋💖💞

Let that shit go!

DebbieRahRah this morning “lets go to the seaside & on the way back we’ll call in and show Walter to Mom & Daddy David”

I let out a shocked “Meh?!?!?” Unfortunately that’s my anxiety getting the better of me!

11am we were in the car, 2 & half hours later we were there! The was shining on us, 29°c, a nice cool breeze and yet the sea was like a mill pond!

Windbreaks erected across the shingly beach in true British style!

As we approached the slight sloping path down to the beach, I realised just HOW many people there were down there!

Just breathe Vicky, just breathe! Its only people! I told myself! But what if people stare at me because I have a walking stick? What if I walk funny because of the sand? What if I fall? What if I get sunburnt? What if the heat effects my MS? What if what if what if!!!

Did it matter? Really? Chances were most people would be sunbathing, reading or shouting at their children! So why would they care about 1 person that just happens to have walking aid! I’m sure I wouldn’t be the first they’d seen in their life!

Walking funny??? Everyone walks funny on the beach when the sand moves beneath your feet!

If you fall over just get back up, brush yourself off and carry on… If anything, you’ll give someone a giggle, if they notice!

Sunburn? You’ve got suncream, use it!

Heat? Deal with it!
Do you see, if I’d have let the anxiety win, I wouldn’t have had such a wonderful day! I wouldn’t have found the strength to walk to the shore, I wouldn’t have paddled in the pools on the way to the sea, I wouldn’t have got a sun kissed nose or sandy toes, I wouldn’t have seen our little boys first paddle in the sea & his reaction when he first went on the sand and started to jump around like a spring lamb!
The inlaws were over the moon with their surprise visit & so happy to meet Walter who they just adore! Jaxon is still their number one boy though! Was nice to hear Debs mum say ‘Mummy Vicky’ as well!… Little does she know!

Be kind to yourself

I may not be the strongest
I may not be the fastest
But I’ll be damned if I’m not trying my hardest!

I may not be able to go to every exercise class I book, working hard in classes tests me the next day!
Hard choice but sometimes I just have to say to myself, I’m being kinder by letting my body rest, for now!
Some people may think it’s quitting, I know different!

HAPPY MS AWARENESS WEEK!

My immune system attacks itself. What does yours do?

Yesterday I had a very productive day! Managed to get out in the garden 1st thing and gave it a quick spruce around, on form in pilates  and then shopping after!
I’m so on it today!
Time for a rest before body combat class later! I’m not saying I’ll do all of it but being there is better than not! Right!

Yes I have MS, yes I do all of these things to the best of my ability because by doing these things I am looking after myself!

Happy MS awareness week!

Proud!

Today I did my first Yoga class and I absolutely loved it! Let me just take this in for a moment!

Yep! Proud!
I’ve wanted to try yoga ever since I started Pilates! My physio always said stick with Pilates, keep the movements fluid. Why!!! I loved it!

Yes, definitely proud!
I stepped out of the box, out of my comfort zone, made the move, did something entirely different to my normal!

I have to say I loved it that much that I booked another 5 sessions!

Thank you Louise for your patience with me & for agreeing to not only have a selfie with Myles the MS-UK mascot but to agreeing to take progress pictures of me for the next 5 (or more!) sessions!

Thank you to Rach for passing Louise’s details on to me as well!

And thank you to everyone in my life for believing in me enough for me to believe in myself!

I have now copied this speech as it’ll do nicely should I ever win an Oscar! ;)😂😂😂
