So, here we are, December! β„β›„

Such a lovey time of the year, call me crazy but I always loved the hustle and bustle of December!

That feeling when you’ve queued in the shops on black Friday πŸ›, you trawled the internet for the best deal on cyber Monday πŸ’», when you can’t decide whether to treat yourself to a fresh christmas tree πŸŽ„ and then like every year – decide that you could actually spend that money on the food instead 🍽 and you get the artificial tree out of the loft.
Next, you sit for an hour or more untangling the lights πŸ’‘ for the tree!

Static shocks ⚑️whenever you touch anything after handling all the tinsel, that you eventually threw on your tree πŸŽ„

Trying not to get stressed 😠 when you end up sticking all your fingers together, as you bravely start wrapping the presents ready🎁 for Santa’s πŸŽ… elves to collect.

You’ve made it this far with your sanity intact, keep it that way just a little longer!
Lets skip through any more dramas that may try to own you and fast forward to sitting with the family πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦, surrounded by all that wrapping paper and invisible sticky tape that got you so stressed 😑. Now it lies on the floor, torn and screwed up! You got your own back on it! You won that war! πŸ’ͺ
Laughter and love πŸ’— all around you as you sit at the table with your loved ones, a glass of your favourite beverage in your hand 🍷 and the bottle 🍾 at your side! Take a breath and feel proud! πŸ‘Œ
Enjoy this time, don’t let the madness of this month ruin the best time that is still to come!
Happy December everyone!

This week is MS awareness week in the UK, something I am very aware of everyday as you can imagine!
MS has changed my life! I learn new things about my-self every day because of it. Some things I’m not keen on which is ok because at least I can spend time reflecting on the things I don’t like, as long as I’m not spending too much time on one thing because then it becomes unhealthy!
Its taken me along time to get to this point of acceptance, there is no end point to it though, something people may not know is how much MS can change from day to day, meaning everyday we may have to adapt and accept something new or even the return of an old symptom!

Our lives are never boring!
Yesterday was an amazing day! A day that I had been planning and working on for a long time!

Yesterday I took myself into the city of Coventry, its only just over 10 miles away, but for someone with extreme anxiety, this is an amazing thing to do!
I went to see this beautiful, kind & gentle soul, Holly Marie. So she could get creative and mark me with a beautiful image, that would forever remind me of what an incredible journey I am on.

The point I am at in my life now, feels so right! I feel as though, with the guidance of so many over the last 7 years (and more, even before my MS) I have started To unveil the real me and like a Lotus flower, I am blossoming!
What an epic LifeJourney!

Thank you for treating me so well yesterday Holly and I’ll see you in 2 weeks for my next symbolic image!

MS effecting my speech…

Another referral due to my MS!

Its crazy how much of ‘you’ MS affects!

My voice hasn’t sounded the same for around 4 years!

Nothing major, I just constantly sound as though I have a cold!
The most annoying thing now is the amount of times I get asked to repeat myself!

I can’t tell what volume I should be using so can occasionally speak very loud!

The worst is when my voice becomes a whisper and I slurr my words!

All because MS has affected my swallow!

When I used to get asked if my swallow was okay at routine check ups, I always thought the consultant meant ‘do I choke often’

Answer: “occasionally”
I never linked the question to the problems I have with my voice! And yet it makes total sense!

Doh!!! πŸ‘…πŸ˜

Breathe!

1-1 Yoga!

Today I will try to remember that where ever I get to in my practice is ok!

I will remember that not only have I completely stopped one of my MS nerve pain meds but I have also halved the main one as well!

Today I will remember not to be hard on myself because this is going to hurt & there’s a reason for it!
I have to overcome the pain and not let it overcome me! I am in charge of own thoughts!

It is with my mind and the breath alone that will get me through this!

As with all my blogs please feel free to share using the options at the end of this blog.

Any comments are also always welcome!

Thanks, Vix
