Still a rock star!

​Just when I convince myself, doing this is allowed, its OK to let myself rest. 

I then see not just one medical appointment, but two, both today, my rest day! 

That’s what rest days are for isn’t it!?? 

Appointments, because they’re so much fun! 😜

Oh yes i am! Absolutely loved Body Pump tonight with @keza_h! What an awesome instructor Kerry is! I never thought i would be able to do this class & not only can i do it but tonight i increased my weights again! 
Feeling proud!

Body image struggles

​Sometimes you just gotta get down on your mat! 
My head, my thoughts are in a funny place at the moment, I’m doing my best to stay with my Yoga but its so hard! 
I’m having a lot of body image problems, for instance I wanted to see how I am with my downward-facing dog (Adho Mukha Shvanasana) progress, so did a video, really pleased with the left side of this picture but extremely dislike the right! (Hate is a strong word but…) And its not because I can’t straighten my legs or flatten my feet. 
I know why I’ve started feeling like this again. That’s part of the battle when you don’t know why your thoughts have changed so much after doing so well.
A bump in my road, well, more than a bump, loosing part of our family has literally took me backwards on my ‘better mind journey’ 
I’ll trust this journey for as long as I’m on it because I have never felt so determined!

I’m back!

​Another beautiful day, I’m up, medicated, showered, dressed AND today not only do i have make up on but I’m going out! 

Yes, I’m ready to face the world, ready to look life in the face & say move over bitch I’m coming through!

I’m back & I’m on it! πŸ‘ŠπŸ’₯

Liquid chalk!

Liquid chalk! Perfect! 3rd time I have tried it since it arrived yesterday afternoon & it has worked all 3 times! Still feel safer when I use my Yoga teachers super sticky latex mat but this way is cheaper than buying one of those & mine was a birthday gift!

MS awareness week 2016, day 6!

This is an emotional, heart string pulling post but is such a good reminder for me and an excellent peace of advice for everyone!…

No matter what you are going through right now, remember, you are never alone!
Find yourself people that are in the same situation as you! This post explains how I did just that and by doing it I realised I wasn’t alone & by being with these amazing people I found that I could feel normal! I was no longer the odd one out!
I found people that spoke the same MeSsy language as me!

Find yourself a person or find your people!
I found mine!

Facebook is great for helping me remember past events, even when they have a massive effect on the current day! This photo was taken 4 years ago at my 2nd Ladies with Lesions meet.
How sad that a lady in this picture is no longer with us 😐

Being a member of this group brought me my incredible friends & showed me I wasn’t the only person with MS, it’s a very lonely time when u find out you have a life long illness (disease)
I honestly believe that being a member of this group (LWL) helped to shape the person I am today!

For this I will be forever thankful to Tanya! Forever missed and never forgotten! Rest in peace lovely! 😭

Be kind to yourself

I may not be the strongest
I may not be the fastest
But I’ll be damned if I’m not trying my hardest!

I may not be able to go to every exercise class I book, working hard in classes tests me the next day!
Hard choice but sometimes I just have to say to myself, I’m being kinder by letting my body rest, for now!
Some people may think it’s quitting, I know different!

My immune system attacks itself. What does yours do?

Yesterday I had a very productive day! Managed to get out in the garden 1st thing and gave it a quick spruce around, on form in pilates  and then shopping after!
I’m so on it today!
Time for a rest before body combat class later! I’m not saying I’ll do all of it but being there is better than not! Right!

Yes I have MS, yes I do all of these things to the best of my ability because by doing these things I am looking after myself!

Proud!

Today I did my first Yoga class and I absolutely loved it! Let me just take this in for a moment!

Yep! Proud!
I’ve wanted to try yoga ever since I started Pilates! My physio always said stick with Pilates, keep the movements fluid. Why!!! I loved it!

Yes, definitely proud!
I stepped out of the box, out of my comfort zone, made the move, did something entirely different to my normal!

I have to say I loved it that much that I booked another 5 sessions!

Thank you Louise for your patience with me & for agreeing to not only have a selfie with Myles the MS-UK mascot but to agreeing to take progress pictures of me for the next 5 (or more!) sessions!

Thank you to Rach for passing Louise’s details on to me as well!

And thank you to everyone in my life for believing in me enough for me to believe in myself!

I have now copied this speech as it’ll do nicely should I ever win an Oscar! ;)😂😂😂
